Message from Sarah at FORCE Cancer Charity (Feb 09)
It is with groups such as ‘Localwomen4women’ that the community is able to support FORCE and learn more about our work. As a result of the superb ‘women’s health and wellbeing day’ held in November 2008 new contacts were made with a few women wanting to become ‘Friends of FORCE’; some therapists offered their support to the Centre, other participants were eager to let others know about the support FORCE had given them and we even we heard that one woman was so thankful for our support that she had successfully recommended the charity to be selected as a recipient of funds raised from the Police Ball 2009!
So THANK YOU to Heather, Lea and Gaynor and to all who participated!

Your Feedback on the November Women’s Day was very positive and we received over 30 evaluation forms. Taking some of your suggestions on board, we’ve been actively working on a Business Plan to see how we can take forward the idea of women supporting women in a variety of ways. We are in the process of registering LocalWomen4Women as a Community Interest Company. This means we will operate as a social enterprise, pursuing strong social objectives and benefitting the community.
We will plan and organise more health and wellbeing events and personal development opportunities for women over the next year with any funds raised being allocated to charitable organisations… so watch this space!
Here’s what we’re planning next…
Over the next two months we will be updating the website, planning some activities and keeping you informed of our progress. Watch out for our next “big” Health and Wellbeing Event which will take place on Saturday, 14 November. There’ll be a slightly different focus this time – perhaps some Tai Chi or Yoga, definitely more therapies and pampering, and maybe even a Swap Shop to start the day. If you have any ideas or suggestions for therapies, workshops or subjects for our speakers, contact us via the Contact Us form. Ditto if you want to be on the waiting list for the next event … (last year’s event, as you know, was sold out three weeks in advance!)
