Belly Dancing & Exercise |
Sahara – Turkish Cabaret Belly Dancing Troupe |
We are a belly dance group called Sahara, three lively ladies who dance for fun and any monies received are donated to various charities. We are Exeter-based and have all been dancing mainly in Turkish Cabaret style for approximately five years. We have performed twice (in a previous troupe) at The Barnfield Theatre and have danced at many fetes and social gatherings for the entertainment of ourselves and the public who take an interest.
We run a weekly class for the troupe Fluidity on a Friday night at the Colin Tooze Sports Centre in Ottery St Mary, so if anyone wishes to come along, they will be made to feel very welcome and can try a class as a Taster Session before enrolling for a term. |
From L to R: Ayisha (Helen Morse), Saida (Sarah Matthews) and Azziza (Liz Longridge). |

Frances Noble - Pilates Instructor |
|
Fran will be running a couple of taster session “Pilates with a difference” during the Health & Wellbeing Day (schedule to be posted on the day). If you would like to take a class, please wear loose clothing and socks. The class will involve very gentle and easy movement
For more than two decades Fran has empowered several thousands of people to achieve optimal health with techniques and knowledge she has acquired over 35 years in healthcare. Her understanding of health and wellness was drawn from her observations of remote tribal communities in the Pacific Islands who maintained natural health with minimal medical intervention; and along with her study of Eastern medicine whilst in Hong Kong, helped her develop a self-care programme which restored her chronic ill health and also that of her clients.
Fran has spent her career working and studying under surgical and scientific leaders and has evolved a powerful combination of skills drawn from cutting edge medical science and age old wisdom which gives her a unique approach to mind/body management. Currently she teaches Pilates classes in the community, runs a clinic as a holistic consultant, and presents online as a USANA associate.
USANA is a market leader for pharmaceutical grade science-based nutritional products under the leadership of Dr Myron Wentz. Fran is passionate about educating people and helping them to expand their knowledge and take responsibility for their health and wealth. Her vision is to inspire women to transform the health of our current and future generations. She coaches health, wealth and business skills for individuals and groups and regularly gives workshops and speaks at conventions.

|
Theresa Bevan has been running for 12 years, has completed the London Marathon twice and various other events throughout the country. She is a UK Athletics Level 2 Coach, lives only a mile away from Bicton and is married with two children. She started the Bicton Group, which is part of the Women’s Running Network (WRN), 10 years ago with the encouragement of Pauline Beare and Peg Wiseman, the inspirational founders of the WRN which last year celebrated its 10th anniversary and now boasts more than 3000 members and 140 individual groups throughout the country. WRN is recognised as the market leader in attracting beginner runners. It gives all women, whatever their age, size or ability, the opportunity to run and encourages improved health, fitness and confidence.
Theresa and Jeanette Pyne, co-leaders of the Bicton Group, are delighted to be part of the second Women's Health and Wellbeing Day and hope some of you may wish to join them in a gentle run in the lovely Bicton grounds on November 14.
